VFX 3D Charakter & Real-Dreh

The 3D creation of Benjamin The Elephant is an example of modern animation art and makes it possible to animate the character in a lifelike way. Thanks to the 3D technology, children can dive even deeper into the world of Benjamin The Elephant and experience his adventures up close. The 3D creation required a lot of work and attention to detail, but the result is a milestone in animation history and an example of the power of 3D technology.

GOALS & IMPLEMENTATION

WHAT GOALS SHOULD THE MOVIE ACCOMPLISH?

goal

01

Set-modeling
The house as well as the virtual zoo world were merged with live action scenes.

goal

02

Design of the 3D character
The realisation of a cartoon character in 3D form using (VFX) visual effects.

goal

03

3D Integration
The process of seamlessly incorporating 3D computer-generated elements into live-action footage

HOW DID FBB ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS?

SET-MODELING AND CHARACTER BUILDING

Set-modeling

Set-modeling – the house

Set-modeling

Set modeling in Benjamin The Elephant refers to the digital modelling of its environment and is an important aspect of 3D creation. Every element of the environment, such as trees, buildings and streets, was carefully modelled, textured and lit to create a lifelike environment. Set modelling is an important part of 3D creation as it helps bring the world of Benjamin The Elephant to life and gives children an even more immersive experience.

Set-modeling with photogrammetry

Set-modeling – the house

Set-modeling with photogrammetry

Set modelling with photogrammetry is a technology that is often used in 3D creation. It involves taking pictures of real objects or locations and converting them into a digital 3D version. Photogrammetry makes it possible to create very accurate models because it can capture all the details and textures of the real object or place. Thanks to set modelling with photogrammetry, 3D animations can offer an even more realistic and immersive representation of the environment.

Pointcloud

Pointcloud technology was used to create a detailed
3D scan data of the house.

Mesh Model

The Pointcloud data was then converted into a mesh model, creating a detailed digital version of the house.

Mesh Model

Care was taken to model every architectural detail of the house.

Mesh textured

Finally, textures were added to the mesh model to achieve a realistic representation of the house.

goal

01

Set-modeling with photogrammetry

Creating Benjamin The Elephant’s house was an elaborate process that required a combination of technologies such as Pointcloud, Mesh Model and Mesh Textured.

Set Modellierung – Das Haus
